The geopolitical thriller trilogy Of Course They Knew is being adapted for television.

The Canadian branch of international broadcaster New Tang Dynasty Television has entered development on the series, based on John Moody’s conspiracy thriller trilogy. The project is being produced by Washington Square Entertainment, Fun Republic Pictures, and Yonderland Productions, in association with New Tang Dynasty and the Canada Media Fund.

Canadian screenwriter and producer David Cormican and actor-writer Dwayne Hill are writing the adaptation and will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Of Course They Knew follows ordinary people across multiple continents, exploring how Western societies are quietly unraveling under a covert global campaign driven by disinformation, artificial intelligence, and psychological warfare.

Additional executive producers include Sophia Sun and Moody himself, while retired US Army officer Wesley K. Clark is consulting on military, intelligence, and international political storylines. The development and rights agreements were handled through Creative Management Partners in collaboration with the production companies and New Tang Dynasty.

Headquartered in New York, New Tang Dynasty focuses on news and cultural programming, and this project is part of its strategy to expand scripted content. Cormican and Hill describe Moody’s trilogy as “reading like tomorrow’s headlines” and believe it has the potential to become a truly global television event. Moody adds that while Of Course They Knew was written as a warning, it is increasingly clear that the world is moving closer to the reality he envisioned.
