The legendary sci-fi series Doctor Who has found its new streaming home in the United States, as digital platform AMC+ announced it has acquired the exclusive US streaming rights to the show’s modern era that aired between 2005 and 2022.

Starting June 11, Doctor Who will be available exclusively in the AMC+ library, bringing a massive package that includes 13 seasons, 175 episodes, and various specials originally broadcast in the UK. This means fans will be able to revisit the iconic eras of Doctors played by Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi, and Jodie Whittaker, returning the franchise to a familiar corporate umbrella since BBC America, Doctor Who‘s original US broadcast home, is also owned by AMC Global Media.

This platform shift comes after the series left HBO Max (Max) last summer due to the expiration of a licensing deal with BBC Studios that ran from 2020 to 2025. It is important to note that the new AMC+ agreement excludes the classic 26-season run of the original series that aired from 1963 to 1989.

Furthermore, the 60th-anniversary specials and the two most recent seasons produced between 2023 and 2025 will remain on Disney+, which ended its production partnership with the BBC last year.
