Four Beta Film titles have earned a total of seven nominations at the 2026 Seoul Drama Awards, with Norwegian limited series A Better Man leading the company’s slate with four nods.

A Better Man is nominated for Best Miniseries, Best Director for Thomas Seeberg Torjussen and Gjyljeta Berisha, Best Screenwriter for Torjussen, and Best Actor for Anders Baasmo. The series follows Tom, a man working at his mother’s clothing store while spending his nights trolling people online.

Created and directed by Thomas Seeberg Torjussen, the 4×1-hour series is produced by Maipo Film in collaboration with ARTBOX for NRK, with ZDFneo as co-production partner. Beta Film handles international sales.

Empire Oktoberfest, Mozart Mozart and The Great Chimera Also Nominated

The second season of Empire Oktoberfest and Mozart Mozart are both in the running for Best Miniseries.

Produced by Zeitsprung Pictures and Violet Pictures, Empire Oktoberfest follows two rival brewing families battling for power and survival around the iconic Munich festival. Mozart Mozart, produced by Story House Pictures, explores the complicated relationship between Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his overlooked sister Maria Anna.

Greek drama The Great Chimera completes Beta Film’s nominations, with director Vardis Marinakis shortlisted for Best Director. Based on M. Karagatsis’ acclaimed novel, the six-part series premiered on ERTFLIX to record-breaking viewing figures.

The Seoul Drama Awards 2026 ceremony will take place in Seoul on October 8.
