Banijay Entertainment has revealed a multi-genre slate of scripted, factual, and format titles for this year’s London TV Screenings.

The line-up is headlined by a reboot of the detective drama Wallander. The new adaptation is produced by Jarowskij/Yellow Bird and Banijay Rights, with Gustaf Skarsgård in the lead role.

Scripted highlights include A Woman of Substance, based on the novel by Barbara Taylor-Bradford; Falling, a modern love story written by Jack Thorne; Half Man, created by Richard Gadd; and Open Water, adapted from Caleb Azumah Nelson’s debut novel.

Third-party titles feature Irish comedy These Sacred Vows and romantic comedy Two Years Later. The factual slate includes America’s Toughest Jails for Discovery; Mission To Space with Francis Bourgeois for Channel 4; Bear Grylls – Wild Reckoning for the BBC; Super Bowl Champions from NFL Films; and CNN Original series Eva Longoria: Searching for France.

On the formats side, key titles include sports adventure reality show Football Island; music competition Staying Alive for ProSieben and Joyn; strategic reality format Werewolves; and global brand Ninja Warrior. Banijay’s catalogue already features major brands such as Big Brother and Peaky Blinders.

The music format Staying Alive stands out for using technology to bring iconic artists including Elvis Presley, Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse and Freddie Mercury back to the stage through virtual duets with contemporary performers.
