Beta Film’s Norwegian drama series A Better Man has won three major awards at the Seoul International Drama Awards, taking home the Grand Prize in the International Competition, Best Screenwriter for creator Thomas Seeberg Torjussen and Best Actor for lead Anders Baasmo.
A multi-award-winning Norwegian drama
Produced by Maipo Film in collaboration with ARTBOX for NRK and co-produced with ZDFneo, A Better Man explores online harassment, gender roles and cancel culture through the story of Tom (Anders Baasmo), a man who spends his days working at his mother’s clothing store while anonymously trolling people online.
His main target is feminist comedian Live (Ingrid Unner Giæver). After Live publicly shares one of his comments, hackers expose Tom’s identity, setting the story on a path from hostility and isolation toward intimacy and reconciliation.
Directed by Thomas Seeberg Torjussen and Gjyljeta Berisha, the four-part series has already earned several international honors, including Best Series and Best Performance at Canneseries in 2025 and Best Series and the Audience Award at Serielizados Fest. It also won three drama awards at Norway’s Gullruten in 2026.
