The Bear will come to an end with its upcoming fifth season, bringing the story of chef Carmy Berzatto and his Chicago restaurant to a close.
The award-winning series stars Jeremy Allen White as Carmy, a fine-dining chef who returns home to run his late brother’s struggling sandwich shop and attempts to transform it into a high-end restaurant.
Hints about The Bear‘s ending emerged in the fourth season, when Carmy tells the team he plans to step away from the restaurant and transfer his shares, suggesting the story is moving toward a conclusion.
Created by Christopher Storer, the ensemble drama also stars Ayo Edebiri as Sydney, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richie, alongside Lionel Boyce and Liza Colón-Zayas. Jamie Lee Curtis has appeared in the series as Carmy’s troubled mother Donna, earning an Emmy for her guest performance.
Premiering in 2022 on FX and Hulu, the critically acclaimed show quickly became a major awards contender, praised for its intense storytelling, fast-paced kitchen scenes and performances. It won the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2023, while its cast and creative team also picked up multiple acting and writing awards.
Season five is expected to premiere in 2026 and will serve as The Bear‘s final chapter.
