Vertical entertainment platform ReelShort is strengthening its presence in Southeast Asia through a series of distribution partnerships with leading telecommunications operators across four key markets.
Operated by Crazy Maple Studio, ReelShort has now established distribution agreements with Singtel in Singapore, Telkomsel in Indonesia, Globe in the Philippines and AIS in Thailand. The deals give the platform access to markets representing close to 70% of Southeast Asia’s population.
The latest agreements with Singtel and Telkomsel follow partnerships previously announced with AIS in April and Globe in June. Within six months, ReelShort has therefore expanded its distribution network across four major Southeast Asian markets.
A Telco-Led Strategy for Vertical Entertainment
The partnerships give ReelShort access to a combined base of more than 275 million mobile connections. Telkomsel reaches more than 150 million subscribers in Indonesia, while Globe serves approximately 67 million subscribers in the Philippines. AIS has around 47 million subscribers in Thailand, while Singtel provides access to Singapore’s premium digital market and a broader regional network.
The company is positioning the expansion around the continued growth of mobile-first entertainment and short-form storytelling in the region.
“Our Southeast Asia strategy is precise, data-driven and focused on markets where mobile entertainment is accelerating fastest,” said Joey Jia, Founder and CEO of Crazy Maple Studio. “Securing distribution across Singtel, Telkomsel, Globe and AIS within six months positions ReelShort at the centre of Southeast Asia’s next wave of digital entertainment growth.”
In Indonesia, ReelShort is being distributed through Telkomsel, including its digital entertainment ecosystem, while the Globe partnership marks the operator’s first direct collaboration with ReelShort in the Philippines.
“With more than 150 million customers and a deep understanding of Indonesia’s diverse digital lifestyles, Telkomsel is well positioned to bring world-class entertainment closer to more people across the country,” said Kemas M. Fadhli, Vice President of Digital Lifestyle at Telkomsel.
Globe Chief Marketing Officer KD Dizon added that the partnership will make short-form content more accessible to Filipino audiences while creating additional value around mobile entertainment consumption.
The four-market rollout further expands ReelShort’s international distribution footprint as vertical microdramas continue to develop from a mobile-native format into a broader entertainment category.
