Between Faith and Freedom: ‘Red Roses’ | Exclusive Interviews with the Cast

Red Roses were nominated in the best series category on Seoul International Drama Awards and Golden Butterfly Awards. The leading cast of the series Mert Yazıcıoglu won the Best Actor Award and the scriptwriter team won the Best Writer award in Golden Butterfly Awards.

Red Roses tells the poignant story of Meryem, who grew up in an Islamic sect and was married at 14. Now she is battling to prevent her daughter Zeynep from suffering the same fate as the bride of the sheikh’s grandson Cüneyd. They face a tumultuous journey, filled with tension and romance, as conservative and progressive beliefs clash.

One of the most important features of the drama is that the series is one of the two series that bring a different breath to the Turkish drama industry. The storytelling style in One Love and Red Roses carries echoes of tradition within modern narratives. Produced by the well-known Gold Film, One Love and Red Roses stand out with their strong stories, great acting, and high-quality production. These shows push the limits of Turkish drama, showing that they can be both deep and exciting. They take viewers on a journey to different worlds, bringing emotion, meaning, and a fresh touch to Turkish television.

The series has a star cast featuring Ozcan Deniz from Evermore, A part of Me, Waiting For You, Ozgu Namal from Lady’s Farm, Mercy, Valley of the Wolves, Mert Yazıcıoglu from Love 101, Mehmet The Conqueror, Black Rose and Hazal Turesan from A Miracle, Stiletto Vendetta, Mrs. Fazilet and Her Daughters and Black Money Love. The drama is produced by Gold Film.

İzzet Pinto, founder and CEO of Global Agency, said: “Gold Film breaks new ground with a brand new, captivating narrative experience with ‘One Love’ and ‘Red Roses’. These series breathe new life into Turkish television, blending deep-rooted traditions with modern storytelling to create compelling and thought-provoking narratives.”
