While the conference titles of the Content Americas programme, which will be held in Miami between 23-25 January 2024, became clearer, two conferences with the participation of names from the Turkish content market were announced in the schedule.

The conferences, where the latest developments in Turkey’s TV series industry will be discussed, will bring together the leading names of the series sector on important topics.

SPOTLIGHT ON TURKEY: FUTURE’S PERSPECTIVES

Spotlight on Turkey, a conference to discuss current trends in Turkish programming, will be held on 25 January at 9:30 am. The conference will discuss new creative and business models and opportunities for co-operation and co-productions with the Latin American business community. Speakers will include leading names in the industry such as Fırat Gülgen, Founder and CEO of Calinos, Erdem Seçkin, CEO of OGM Pictures and Handan Özkubat, Director of Turkish Drama of Eccho Rights. These conferences will provide an important opportunity for attendees to explore innovations and future perspectives in Türkiye’s programming industry.

CASE STUDY: ‘ONE LOVE’ UNDER SCRUTINY

The other event is a conversation on the popular Turkish TV series “One Love”, which is designed as a Case Study. In this chat, Global Agency CEO İzzet Pinto and lead actor Barış Kılıç discuss the series One Love. Topics such as what makes it one of the most talked about series, why it resonates well with young audiences and how it sells around the world will be discussed with direct experience from the distributor and the actor. The event will take place on 23 January at 12:30.

One Love was described in the announcement of the event on the Content Americas website as follows:

One Love – A search for harmony amid a clash of cultures.

One Love tells the captivating story of the idealistic Doga falling hopelessly in love at university with the charming Fatih, a man from a devout family whose values clash with those of her mother, creating a moving drama as they seek to overcome their differences. Doga’s life plans are turned upside down and her mother is shaken to the core when she refuses to have an abortion and instead marries him. With her devastated mother convinced that religion will doom their marriage, Doga and Fatih face a battle for their love to triumph over this culture clash. Her mother too faces a struggle that triggers major changes in her attitudes, enriching a complex love story that brings together two families who are worlds apart but share the same deep truths.
