Netflix has released the first trailer for its upcoming sports comedy series The Hawk.
The show is created by and stars Will Ferrell, who also serves as an executive producer on the project, marking his return to a leading role in a television comedy.
The series follows Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins, once the number-one golfer in the world in 2004, who attempts an unlikely comeback after more than two decades away from the top of the sport. Determined to reclaim his former glory and complete golf’s elusive Grand Slam, Lonnie refuses to accept that his best days may be behind him. However, his return to the course places him face-to-face with several challenges, including his longtime rival Golden Fisk, played by Luke Wilson, PGA TOUR board member Anton, portrayed by Chris Parnell, and Radford, the new partner of his estranged wife, played by David Hornsby.

The ensemble cast also features Jimmy Tatro as Lance, Lonnie’s son and a rising golf star of the new generation. Additional cast members include Molly Shannon as Stacy, Katelyn Tarver as Natalie, and Fortune Feimster as Sam, Lonnie’s new caddie who accompanies him during his unexpected return to professional golf.
Following the trailer’s release, fans quickly took to social media to praise the series, with many describing it as “peak comedy” and celebrating Ferrell’s return to the sports-comedy genre that helped define his career. While an exact premiere date has yet to be announced, The Hawk is scheduled to debut on Netflix in summer 2026.
