Netflix has renewed the Danish crime series The Asset for a second season.

The series follows Tea, a young agent who goes undercover to infiltrate a criminal organisation by getting close to the ringleader’s wife. After attracting strong audience interest with its first season, the show is now set to return with higher stakes. According to Netflix, the new season will see Tea and Ashley facing their toughest challenges yet in a fight for survival and justice.

Clara Dessau and Maria Cordsen will reprise their lead roles in season two, joined once again by Afshin Firouzi and Nicolas Bro. The upcoming season will be conceptually directed and co-written by Samanou Acheche Sahlstrøm, alongside Frederik Ringtved.

Production is scheduled to begin later this year in Copenhagen. The creative team has teased that the second season will “turn everything upside down” and take the story into darker territory.

First released in October 2025, The Asset became a breakout hit on Netflix, reaching number one in 52 countries and entering the top 10 in 90 territories worldwide. The Asset has amassed 11.3 million views, cementing its place as one of Netflix’s standout European crime dramas.
