As NEM Dubrovnik 2025 drew to a close, we sat down with Rodrigo Nascimento, Globo’s Head of International Business – EMEA, to discuss how strategic the CEE region is for the company.

A century-old media company. First of all, I would like to start by congratulating you…

“Before being a media company, we are storytellers. Yes, in 2025, we celebrate 100 years of Globo Group, 60 years of TV Globo, and 10 years of Globoplay. This milestone reinforces our commitment to the future, to Brazilian talent and the audience renewing our mission to tell powerful stories that reflect the richness of Brazil’s identity. Globo remains connected to Brazilians, investing in talent and innovation to deliver the best in journalism, drama, and sports across all platforms. Driven by curiosity and purpose, we look ahead to the next 100 years, fostering creativity and embracing new ideas.”

What were your impressions of NEM Dubrovnik 2025?

“That’s my first NEM, in addition to the fact that the city of Dubrovnik is incredible, I’m very impressed about the market. I had the chance to meet many partners from the region, which is very strategic for Globo. He said. For sure we will be attending it next year. I got very well impressed about the organization of the event, the quality of the meetings and panels. So congratulations, NEM. It was amazing!”

Which titles have you been highlighting at NEM Dubrovnik 2025, and what has been your main focus during the market?

“Recently aired on Brazilian prime-time, Crazy About You is a telenovela by João Emanuel Carneiro, the acclaimed writer behind Brazil Avenue and All The Flowers. The story centers on the friendship between Viola (Gabz, from Perfect Love) and Luma (Agatha Moreira, from Hidden Truths), two women born on the same day who meet years later, connected by coincidences that go beyond their birthday.”

“And also new season of Anti-Kidnapping Unit which we presented at LA Screenings. The series is created by José Junior (Betinho: Living on a Razor’s Edge) and José Luiz Magalhães, with general direction by Lipe Binder (Betinho: Living on a Razor’s Edge). The season 4 of Anti-Kidnapping Unit delivers thrilling and suspenseful episodes set in late 1990s Rio de Janeiro, following a challenging case tackled by the Anti-Kidnapping Division.”

“Classic Telenovelas, timeless hits such as Brazil Avenue (Globo’s best-selling title internationally), Total Dreamer, and Her Own Destiny continue to captivate global audiences.”
