atv’s upcoming series Kara Dut, (Black Mulberry) written by Sırma Yanık and directed by Murat Saraçoğlu, is currently in the casting stage. Produced by Tims&B, the series tells the story of Zuhal Erdem, a writer with a deep-seated trauma from her childhood related to her mother.
İrem Helvacıoğlu will star as Zuhal, with Engin Şenkan playing her father, Çetin, and Aslı İnandık portraying her older sister, Figen.
According to Birsen Altuntaş, three new actors have joined the cast. Naz Elmas will take on the role of Nihan, Tayfun’s ex-wife. Ebrar Karabakan will play Begüm, the youngest daughter of the Erdem family and Onur Gürçay will portray Ayhan, Figen’s husband.
Casting is still ongoing for the role of Tayfun, Zuhal’s great love.
