DeAPlaneta Entertainment has appointed Daniel Acero Montoya as its new Head of Digital Content and Channels, as the company expands its digital strategy across FAST, AVOD, YouTube and social media.
Based in Barcelona, Acero Montoya brings nearly a decade of experience in the YouTube ecosystem, covering content creation, channel management, optimization and monetization. He joins DeAPlaneta from KNOT, a digital sports-focused MCN, where he started as Key Account Manager before becoming COO.
At KNOT, he managed a network of more than 200 channels across 21 countries and worked with sports federations, teams and organizations including CONMEBOL, the Saudi Pro League and the RFEF, as well as partners across Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Colombia.
Expanding DeAPlaneta’s Digital Footprint
Acero previously worked at Viewin, part of the Secuoya Group, where he managed YouTube content for accounts including Movistar and RTVE. His expertise includes YouTube CMS, Content ID, rights management and Google Ad Manager, alongside developing content and monetization strategies for different markets.
In his new role, Acero will focus on expanding the reach of DeAPlaneta Entertainment’s IP across FAST and AVOD channels, YouTube and social platforms. His remit includes developing platform-specific strategies, reaching new audiences and creating international monetization opportunities.
“Few industries have the responsibility of being part of so many families’ childhoods, and DeAPlaneta Entertainment has something that sets it apart from other companies in the sector: a catalogue that several generations have grown up with and that continues to expand with new and exciting productions,” Acero said. “I’m joining the company with great respect for that legacy and with the ambition to make FAST and YouTube another set of tools serving the portfolio.”
Diego Ibáñez Belaustegui, Chief Brand Officer at DeAPlaneta Entertainment, added: “What works on FAST isn’t necessarily what works on YouTube or TikTok. Daniel understands this perfectly. With his experience and vision, we will develop content that is not only effective for each channel, but that genuinely connects with our audiences.”
The appointment comes as DeAPlaneta continues to develop the digital presence of brands including Milo, WonderPals and Magic Lilly across international markets.
