Chilean executive Iñaki Vicente has joined Ay Yapım as Chief Content & Strategy Officer for Spanish- and Portuguese-language markets.

Vicente will oversee the company’s growth strategy across Spain and Latin America, with a particular focus on Mexico, Brazil and Colombia.

Ay Yapım aims to develop adaptations from its existing content library while also producing original local projects in the region. The strategy spans dramas and telenovelas, as well as film and scripted series.

The goal is to create mass-market content with strong international travel potential. The company has already opened a local subsidiary in Spain, while partnerships in other territories will be pursued on a project-by-project basis.

Vicente said the company remains open to flexible production models, including original productions, co-productions and direct investment.

With more than 25 years of industry experience, Vicente most recently served as general director of Chilevisión.

Ay Yapım CEO Kerem Çatay highlighted Vicente’s key role in the success of Turkish dramas in Latin America: “Ay Yapım’s formats continue to generate strong international interest, with successful remakes produced or currently in development all over the world. As we expand our footprint and produce original projects in Spanish- and Portuguese-language territories, Iñaki’s leadership will be key to strengthening Ay Yapım’s position as a global producer.”

Vicente will be based between Chile and Turkey in his new role.
