ZDF Studios will distribute the historical miniseries Agnes worldwide.
The show, taking place in the 13th century, focuses on Bohemian Princess’s decision to reject marriage and power to found a convent. The story explores the themes of women’s empowerment, social justice, conscience and moral courage.
The princess was a real-life historical figure, who was canonized before 1989. The series was produced in Czech, and broadcasted by Czech TV, Slovak TV and NDR/Arte.
Starring Eliška Křenková and directed by Lenka Wimmerová, Agnes will be launched internationally by ZDF Studios on a date yet to be announced.
