ZDF Studios has signed a new partnership agreement with wedotv (Video Solutions AG) for its children’s and family-focused digital brand Pash, marking a significant step in the brand’s ongoing expansion.
Under the agreement, wedotv will serve as the pay-TV partner for Pash, which had previously been available exclusively as a VoD service. This move signals a major evolution in the brand’s business model, extending its reach beyond digital platforms into linear distribution.
wedotv’s Pash offers a library of more than 500 hours of high-quality animation and live-action content. Its programming is carefully curated in line with public broadcasting values, particularly those of KiKA, and adheres to strict editorial and quality standards.
With the new deal between wedotv and ZDF, Pash will launch in localized versions across Hungary, the Czech Republic and Poland, while also rolling out in English-language versions in the Middle East, Northern Asia and Southeast Asia. This expansion will significantly strengthen the brand’s footprint beyond Europe.
Among the platform’s key titles are Dibidoo, The Muscleteers, Space Nova, and H2O – Mermaid Adventures, alongside beloved classics such as Lassie, Peter Pan, and The Jungle Book.
Pash is already available across more than twelve European countries as well as in North and South America. Its distribution partners include Amazon Prime Video, YouTube and various local platforms and telecom operators.
The brand is further supported by targeted content strategies across social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, helping it engage younger audiences across multiple touchpoints.
Jan-Frederik Maul emphasized that the partnership represents a key milestone in expanding Pash into new territories while entering the pay-TV segment. Meanwhile, Philipp Rotermund described Pash as “a strong brand offering high-quality, trustworthy, and internationally successful children’s content.”
As the commercial arm of ZDF, ZDF Studios holds a strong position in the global market, operating across content distribution, co-productions and development.
