The Turkish Competition Authority announced that it has approved Warner Bros. Discovery’s acquisition of BluTV. According to the announcements on the website of the Competition Authority, the Board authorised the acquisition of BluTV İletişim ve Dijital Yayın Hizmetleri AŞ shares by Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. through Discovery Medya Hizmetleri Ltd.
The following statements were included in the announcement:
“The final acquisition of BluTv İletişim ve Dijital Yayın Hizmetleri AŞ shares by Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. through Discovery Medya Hizmetleri Ltd. Şti has been authorised.”
Under the deal, BluTV will join Warner Bros. Discovery. With this acquisition, Warner Bros. Discovery is expected to increase its activities in Turkey.
