Netflix and AMC Global Media have entered into a multi-year global licensing partnership that will bring the entire The Walking Dead franchise to a broader international audience.
Covering 371 episodes across the original series and its six spin-offs, the agreement marks one of the biggest streaming deals for the long-running zombie universe.
Beginning in 2027, Netflix will expand its global library with Fear the Walking Dead, Daryl Dixon, Dead City, The Ones Who Live, World Beyond, and Tales of The Walking Dead. The same titles will also become available on AMC+ in the territories where the streaming service operates, with both companies sharing co-exclusive streaming rights.
The partnership also broadens Netflix’s international availability of the original series, introducing the flagship series to additional markets including the United Kingdom, Italy, Australia, and New Zealand. Release dates will differ by region as existing licensing agreements expire.
Originally airing between 2010 and 2022, the original series ran for 11 seasons and 177 episodes, evolving into one of television’s most influential scripted franchises and spawning an expansive shared universe. Executives from both Netflix and AMC Global Media said the agreement is designed to make the franchise more accessible to viewers worldwide while reinforcing the companies’ long-standing relationship.
