The Bear, Christopher Storer’s Primetime Emmy-winning show, has officially been renewed for a fifth season. The series premiered its fourth season last week on Disney+, regaining its popularity with shorter episode lengths and strong viewership numbers.
“The Bear continues to be a fan favorite worldwide and their response to this season—as seen through incredibly high viewership—has been as spectacular as any of its previous seasons,” FX Chairman John Landgraf said on the renewal. “Year-in and year-out, Chris Storer, the producers, cast and crew make ‘The Bear’ one of the best shows on television, and we are excited that they will continue to tell this magnificent story.”
The lead actor, Jeremy Allen White, has risen to stardom thanks to his performance in The Bear. Co-stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Ayo Edebiri have also seen their careers skyrocket following the show’s success. With all three actors now in high demand and juggling packed schedules, speculation has arisen about the series’ future. However, The Bear‘s global impact and consistently high viewership quickly paved the way for a Season 5 renewal.
Looking ahead, Jeremy Allen White is set to portray legendary musician Bruce Springsteen in 20th Century Studios’ upcoming biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere. Ebon Moss-Bachrach will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as “The Thing” in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, hitting theaters on July 25. He is also currently filming Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars in London. Meanwhile, Ayo Edebiri stars alongside Julia Roberts in After the Hunt, directed by Luca Guadagnino and planned for release this October.
The Bear Season 5 is expected to premiere in 2026.
