UK-based distributor Sphere Abacus has added another title to its growing true crime catalogue, securing Britain’s TikTok Murder for Prime Video UK & Ireland.

Produced by Phoenix Television and Born This Way Media in association with TPC, the two-part documentary will debut on the platform later this year.

Sphere Abacus’ acquisition is part of a broader multi-title true crime agreement between Sphere Abacus and Prime Video UK & Ireland, overseen by the company’s Global Content Director, Will Stapley. The deal further strengthens Sphere Abacus’ presence in the premium factual market while expanding its partnership with the streaming service.

Sphere Abacus’ series examines the 2023 killing of 62-year-old army veteran Stuart Crocker, who was found fatally stabbed in his Hampshire home. Investigators soon focused on his significantly younger girlfriend, TikTok creator Winter Swan Miller, whose social media activity drew widespread attention as the case unfolded.

Beyond the murder investigation, Britain’s TikTok Murder explores issues including drug addiction, the exploitation of vulnerable military veterans by criminal gangs and additional allegations connected to an earlier unexplained death, revealing a case that extends far beyond the initial crime.

Will Stapley comments, “We have built relationships with a wide group of indies throughout the world and are delighted to be working with the UK’s Phoenix Television – creators of compelling factual content.  Britain’s TikTok Murder is a haunting story of manipulation, online performance, coercive control and violence hidden behind social media fame which will strongly appeal to Prime Video’s UK and Irish subscribers.”

Jaimi West, Co-founder of Phoenix Television, said: “Britain’s TikTok Murder tells the story of the tragic death of Stuart Crocker, exploring the events that led to his murder and the aftermath that followed. At its heart is the story of a man whose life was cut short, while examining the role that social media, vulnerability and manipulation played in a case that had a profound impact on his family, friends and the wider community.”

Adding: “We’re incredibly grateful to be working with Sphere Abacus, alongside Will Stapley and Jonathan Ford, and Born This Way Media, with Max Barber, to bring this story to audiences. Drawing on the experiences of Stuart’s family, the journalists who covered the case, and voices from the policing and criminal justice community, the film pieces together how the case unfolded. We’re immensely proud that Britain’s TikTok Murder will be available on Prime Video, bringing this compelling true crime story to viewers.”

Born This Way Media Creative Director & Series Producer Max Barber explains: “As a company we are always sourcing unique access and stories that need a voice or revealing a new viewpoint. The other elements that compelled me to make the film were the topical themes combined with a warped obsession with social media fame that became a factor in such a senseless killing.

Not to mention the sheer, eye-popping volume of TikTok material we had of our perpetrator. Britain’s TikTok Murder is urgently told through the viewpoints of the journalists who covered the case, an ex-army friend of the victim, not to mention the family who take us on this disturbing, but at times touching, enquiry into the life and death of Stuart Crocker. But, of course, his untimely end was only the beginning of where this story went….”
