As part of its 2026 content slate, Netflix has commissioned three new productions from Spain. The projects include a true-crime documentary, a historical crime drama and a feature-length film.

Lobo has begun filming as a miniseries centered on Manuel Blanco Romasanta, considered Spain’s first documented serial killer. Based on real events in 19th-century Galicia, the series stars Luis Tosar and Tristán Ulloa.

The documentary Miguel Ángel Blanco: Las 48 Horas Que Lo Cambiaron Todo examines the kidnapping and murder of Spanish politician Miguel Ángel Blanco by ETA. The film revisits a pivotal moment of collective solidarity that marked a turning point in Spain’s fight against terrorism.

Meanwhile, En nombre de otro is a fast-paced thriller currently in production, written and directed by Oriol Paulo.

Netflix’s Spanish slate also includes a sports documentary focusing on the final chapter of Rafael Nadal’s career.

The projects were unveiled at an event in Madrid, where cast members and leading figures from the Spanish entertainment industry took to the stage. With these commissions, Netflix continues to strengthen its investment in Spanish true crime and drama content.
