Sera has announced the acquisition of international format distribution rights for The Key, a new high-suspense game show which combines luck with knowledge.

In this prime-time game show, contestants can pick one of the 10 keys for each right answer. However, only 1 of these keys unlocks the prize money! Will the contestant answer 9 out of 10 questions correctly and be unlucky enough not to get the prize? Or will they know the right answer for only 1 question and still win the massive prize?!

“The Key is a very simple concept for viewers to understand and gets them captivated until the end with its many twists and suspenseful finale” says Idil Belli, CEO of Sera Film. “I believed there was something special in this format as soon as I saw it. We are excited to bring it to market and find the first lucky partner to produce it with!”

Elliott Usifo, Executive Producer and Format Creator at RTL Studios adds “I wanted to develop a format that combines familiar quiz and game show elements but at the same time feels fresh, modern and exciting. During the initial game tests, the test candidates had so much fun that we can hardly wait to see this show on screen.”

The Key is created by RTL Studios and distributed by Sera Film Services. It is currently in talks with multiple broadcasters. (First producer would have privileges, open to discussion.)
