The premiere of the series RU, starring Meryem Uzerli, took place yesterday during a special event.
The cast watched the first two episodes of the series with a large gathering at the premiere, followed by a Q&A session.
Meryem Uzerli said, “Reyan experiences some difficulties in her marriage. She starts a new romance and struggles with her own emotions. It’s a very exciting and drama-filled series; there were many moments where we laughed a lot. The whole team is very excited; we have been waiting for this premiere for 1.5 years.”
Burak Berkay Akgül added, “The character Uzer is quite unique. We don’t see people like Uzer often, we don’t notice them, but their world is completely different; we will see this as the episodes progress.”
Zafer Algöz stated, “It was an interesting experience for me; it was the first time I portrayed a chef. We all enjoyed acting a lot, and we tried to do justice to the roles given to us. I hope viewers will enjoy our series.”
Şevval Sam, who portrays Uzer’s mother in the series, said, “I am an actress who loves to push boundaries. In this role, I play an elderly woman who is near death.”

Created by Taylan Yapıcı and written by Yeşim Çıtak, RU is produced by MEDYAPIM and tells the unconventional love story of 38-year-old Reyan and 18-year-old Uzer. The series, directed by Bahadır Karataş and Burak Çaldır and produced by Fatih Aksoy and Yiğit Şardan, was filmed in Urla and consists of 8 episodes. Featuring a talented cast including Burak Berkay Akgül, Hira Koyuncuoğlu, Emre Karayel, Gökay Türkmen, Zafer Algöz, Şevval Sam, Derya Alabora, Gonca Vuslateri, Kartal Can Ermiş, Beril Kayar, and Sevgi Temel, RU is set to broadcast on GAİN starting May 24.
