Emmy Award nominee Rainn Wilson, widely recognized for his role as Dwight Schrute in The Office (US), lends his voice to South Pacific Pictures’ new relationship comedy-drama Settling.

The six-part, half-hour series premieres today on Sky New Zealand’s Three and ThreeNow. Global distribution will be handled by All3Media International, part of Banijay Entertainment, through a partnership with South Pacific Pictures.

Set against a contemporary backdrop, Settling follows two disillusioned thirtysomethings who decide to honor a teenage pact by entering a platonic marriage, hoping to meet the expectations of their families and society while navigating the complexities of modern relationships.

“We are incredibly proud to have  Settling on Sky’s local content slate. This is a delightful comedy with a real twist, brought to life by an exceptionally talented cast and crew.,” says Sky’s Commissioning Editor Tina McLaren. “The series is a fantastic addition to our growing portfolio of local stories and a testament to the skill and creativity of Hannah and Pax, whose distinctive storytelling captures the heart, humour and authenticity of New Zealand life,” said Sky’s Commissioning Editor Tina McLaren.

Settling is a fun homage to everyone’s favourite rom-com, relatable regardless of where you are from in the world, elevated with a great dose of unique kiwi humour.  We are delighted with the show, and think audiences are going to love it too,” said SPP’s Chief Executive Kelly Martin.

Written by Hannah Marshall and Pax Assadi. Executive Produced by Kelly Martin, Sally Campbell, Andrew Szusterman, Hannah Marshall, Pax Assadi, SPP for Sky New Zealand in association with All3Media International.
