One of the most anticipated dramas of the season, Queen of Tears (Aşk ve Gözyaşı) will premiere on Friday, September 19 on atv in Türkiye. Hande Erçel discussed the hidden depths of her character, Meyra, in an interview with Dizi TV.
Hande Erçel: “Meyra is like an Iron Lady.”
Describing Meyra as a confident woman who knows exactly what she wants, Erçel explained:
“Meyra is a woman who carries an emotional armor… almost like an Iron Lady. But at the same time, she is deeply fragile and has always felt the need to hide it. That’s how she has learned to live. All she really wants is to be understood, but she’s difficult to understand, and that will be her biggest challenge.”
The actress also shared her excitement about the project:
“Viewers will realize that in life, every relationship, not just romantic ones, but family bonds too, deserves a second chance. From the very beginning, our whole team has felt the same energy, as if we’ve been working together for a long time rather than starting something new. I believe this will come across on screen.”
Written by Dilara Pamuk and directed by Engin Erden, Queen of Tears features a strong ensemble cast. Alongside Hande Erçel and Barış Arduç, the series features Berk Cankat, Senan Kara, Şenay Gürler, Feri Güler, Kubilay Tunçer, Öznur Serçeler, Mert Denizmen, Aslı İnandık, Necat Bayar, Lorin Merhart, Afranur Karagöz, Gürhan Altundaşar, Ali İpin, and Sanem Çelik.
