Prime Video has officially greenlit Stillwater, a new horror drama from Greg Berlanti and Carly Wray. Based on the Skybound graphic novel of the same name by Chip Zdarsky and Ramón K. Pérez, the series has received an eight-episode order.

The story follows ex-con Daniel West, who travels to the town of Stillwater after receiving a mysterious letter promising answers about his past and a substantial inheritance. Upon his arrival, he discovers a strange community where no one ever ages, no one ever dies, and no one can leave.

The project was originally picked up by Amazon with a straight-to-series order following a competitive bidding war in 2025. After a year in development, it has now officially received the green light to move into production.

Berlanti and Wray described Stillwater as a psychological horror series that goes beyond the traditional immortality story, exploring the true cost of living forever and what a community is willing to sacrifice to protect that existence.

Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television at Amazon MGM Studios, called the series an original blend of horror, mystery, and psychological suspense, praising its emotionally rich and unsettling world.

The executive producing team includes Berlanti Productions as well as Robert Kirkman and Chip Zdarsky on behalf of Skybound Entertainment. Stillwater also marks the second comic book adaptation from Greg Berlanti Productions to receive a series order this week.

Stillwater is a truly original series that blends horror, mystery, and psychological suspense into something entirely unexpected,” said Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television, Amazon MGM Studios. “Greg Berlanti, Carly Wray, and the incredible teams at WBTV and Skybound have created a world unlike anything audiences have seen before—one that’s unsettling, emotionally rich, and impossible to look away from. We’re thrilled to bring this remarkable story to Prime Video audiences around the world.”
