Netflix has expanded the cast of its upcoming Italian-set romantic caper Positano, with Toni Collette, Karren Karagulian, Salvatore Esposito, Michele Savoia, and Lorenzo De Moor joining the project.
The film is directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Daniel Roher (Tuner, The AI Doc) and stars Matthew McConaughey and Zoe Saldaña in the lead roles.
Positano follows a charming jewel thief who abandons his carefree lifestyle to help a mysterious woman pull off a high-stakes heist that ultimately proves to be worth far more than money. Details about the characters played by the newly announced cast members remain under wraps.
The screenplay was written by Alessandro Tanaka and Brian Gatewood, while Eric Fellner, Tim Bevan, and Derrin Schlesinger serve as producers for Working Title. Amelia Granger, Katherine Pomfret, Alessandro Tanaka, and Brian Gatewood are executive producers.
The newly announced cast members also have several high-profile projects on the horizon. Toni Collette is set to appear in Ibelin, Fangs, and Netflix’s AI-themed thriller 2034. Karren Karagulian will next star in The Adventures of Cliff Booth and Amazon MGM’s The Man with the Bag. Salvatore Esposito is joining the ensemble of Maserati: The Brothers alongside Anthony Hopkins, Al Pacino, Andy Garcia, and Jessica Alba, while Michele Savoia and Lorenzo De Moor are also attached to several upcoming international productions, including Maserati: The Brothers, the Cliffhanger reboot, and The Resurrection of the Christ: Part Two.
