Former Keshet International CEO Alon Shtruzman and producer Scott Einbinder have launched New Short Media, a new studio focused on premium vertical micro dramas.
Based in Los Angeles, the company is backed by a consortium of investors and will operate alongside the pair’s existing company, 5X Media.
The studio will develop mobile-first scripted and unscripted projects featuring established actors, influencers, and digital creators. Director Gev Miron will oversee creative development alongside writer-producer Russell Rothberg.
New Short Media already has 10 projects heading into production and plans to produce multiple microseries simultaneously. Among the first announced titles are the action-romance thriller Speeding Towards You, which follows two rival car thieves caught in a covert operation targeting a crime syndicate; the action-comedy One Foot in Hollywood, about a group of influencers forced to make a film for a cartel boss; and Polyamour Mon Amour, a reality format centered on a celebrity couple searching for a third partner to join their relationship.
The company aims to expand vertical storytelling beyond romance by investing in genres including action, thriller, comedy, crime, sports, docu-reality, and creator-led formats. According to the founders, New Short Media’s goal is to combine premium production values with the marketing power of the creator economy to bring microseries to broader audiences.
