Netflix has renewed its young adult ice skating drama Finding Her Edge for a second season.
The series is adapted from Jennifer Iacopelli’s bestselling novel and follows Adriana Russo, a competitive ice skater preparing for the World Championship with her new partner while grappling with unresolved emotions involving a former lover.
Starring Madelyn Keys, Cale Ambrozic, and Olly Atkins, the first season premiered on Netflix on January 22. Following its release, the series entered Netflix’s Top 10 in 81 countries, surpassed 12 million views, and continues to rank in the Netflix English Series Top 10. This week, Finding Her Edge climbed as high as number three.
After the show’s debut, sales of the original novel increased by 500%. The Netflix-branded paperback edition sold five times more copies in just eight weeks than the original hardcover edition released in 2022. The Netflix adaptation has also accelerated international publishing and translation deals for the book.
Showrunner Jeff Norton has revealed that the second season will further deepen both the romantic and family-driven central conflicts.
The series is produced through a continued collaboration between Netflix and WildBrain.
