Last Samurai Standing has officially been renewed for a second season.
The breakout series claimed the number one spot on Netflix Global Top 10 upon its premiere. The show captured international attention, entering the Top 10 in 88 countries. Last Samurai Standing topped the list for four consecutive weeks in Japan.
The show became the first entirely Japanese production to be nominated in the Critics’ Choice Awards’ Best International Series category. Starring and produced by Junichi Okada, the series is directed by Michihito Fujii.
As the show gears up for its next installment, Netflix emphasizes that it is a Japanese original that ignited a global buzz. The second season is expected to be larger in scale and more action-driven.
