Netflix has announced a strategic leadership appointment for three of its most vital European markets, naming a new Director of Content Programming Strategy and Operations for Spain, Italy, and France.
The position has been filled by Gabriella Carriere, who transitioned into the role earlier this month after serving as the Group Head of Strategy and New Business at Fremantle.
Carriere brings a wealth of industry expertise to Netflix, having previously spent five years at Sky Italia, where she climbed the ranks from Strategy Manager to a senior director role within the company’s marketing and commercial divisions. Her extensive background in strategy and business development makes her a key addition to the streaming giant’s European team.
This appointment comes at a crucial time, as Netflix looks to build on the momentum of massive international hits like Spain’s Money Heist and France’s Lupin. In her new capacity, Carriere will spearhead content production and programming efforts across these three high-priority nations, overseeing the creative pipeline that has consistently delivered global successes for the platform.
Lina Brounéus, Netflix’s VP of Content Programming Strategy & Operations for EMEA, welcomed Carriere to the team by highlighting the perfect alignment between her deep passion for content and her impressive track record. Brounéus expressed strong confidence in the appointment, noting that the team is thrilled to have Carriere on board and is eager to see the energy and expertise she will bring to Netflix’s ongoing creative ventures in these key territories.
