The new musical micro drama series Playback, produced by Second Rodeo, is set to debut on Holywater Tech’s MyDrama platform on April 17, 2026.

Playback features a star-studded digital cast, led by global social media sensation and comedian Hannah Stocking alongside America’s Next Top Model winner Sophie Sumner. The series also stars Amber Laird, Royce Lundquist, and Sarah Sampino.

The narrative centers on Maddie Bryce (Laird), a talented songwriter on the cusp of her big break, whose path to stardom is complicated by a secret she must keep at all costs. Set against the backdrop of a rapidly changing industry, the story explores how artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping music, blurring the lines between the artist and the creation while challenging notions of identity and authenticity. Stocking takes on the role of Samantha Stern, a magnetic and highly influential pop star who constantly finds herself in the headlines.

This release marks a significant milestone for Holywater, the Ukrainian-based micro-drama powerhouse, as it continues its mission to bring vertical, short-form content into the mainstream. Following a recent partnership with Fox and a $22 million investment, Playback stands as a high-production example of the future of mobile-first entertainment.
