Maverick Arts Publishing has entered the television space with their new production company, Maverick Pictures Ltd.

The new company will operate as a coproduction studio. Maverick Pictures will focus on adapting the publishing house’s children’s books for film and television.

Maverick Pictures Ltd. was founded in cooperation with A New Productions’ writer and actor Luke Bailey.

The company’s first project will be the adaptation of Jenny Moore’s Dragon Girl book series. Dragon Girl is being developed as a 6×22-minute live-action fantasy series aimed at children aged 10–13. The book series will be published by Maverick in the UK and Sourcebooks in the US and Canada on March 5.

Maverick Arts Publishing’s founder Steve Bicknell will serve as managing director of the new production company.
