Prime Video has announced that it has started filming its new Turkish production, Gölgede 39 Derece (39 Degrees in the Shade), starring Ayça Ayşin Turan and Furkan Andıç.

Directed by Tunç Şahin, written by Uygar Şirin, and produced by Bir Film, this romantic comedy tells the story of Kumru and Fatih, whose lives take unexpected turns in the contrasting cities of Istanbul and Izmir. The film is set to premiere on Prime Video at the end of 2024.

Prime Video has been increasing its investments in Turkish content. In 2023, the platform released the films Rüyanda Görürsün and Bihter, and in 2024, it debuted its first Turkish Original series, Dilemma. Upcoming Turkish Originals include Arda Turan: Yüzleşme, The Blue Cave, and Gölgede 39 Derece.

About ‘Gölgede 39 Derece

Kumru is a young, ambitious lawyer who has adapted to the hustle and bustle of Istanbul after moving there. Punctuality is her middle name. Fatih, on the other hand, was born and raised in the laid-back city of Izmir, reflecting its calm character. As events unfold, Kumru finds herself back in Izmir, handling a high-profile divorce case that could make or break her career. Her path crosses with Fatih’s, and their clashing personalities lead to an unexpected partnership.

With only eight hours to gather evidence against a cheating spouse, conclude the case, visit Kumru’s quirky mother, get Fatih’s musician friends to a concert, and attend a wedding, the duo races through the streets of Izmir. Their plans and lives change in ways they never anticipated.
