Olivia Taylor Dudley and François Arnaud are set to lead Godstar, the upcoming dark comedy-drama from filmmaker Oren Shai.
The feature has recently wrapped production in Los Angeles and marks Shai’s second full-length film.
Joining Dudley and Arnaud in the cast are Blu Hunt and James Urbaniak. The story follows Ronnie Dalton, an actress who reunites with the former lover who abandoned her at the height of their success when the two are cast opposite each other in a revival of the play that made them famous. Over the course of a single rehearsal, long-buried resentments and unresolved emotions begin to surface.
The screenplay marks the feature writing debut of songwriter Nicole Morier, while Dustin Cook and Linda Ajeti produce under the Bureau of Content and Sabertooth banners.
Describing the project, Shai said Godstar explores the emotional cost of artistic ambition and the ways creatives can become architects of their own downfall, blending dark comedy with the unsettling tone of a psychological nightmare.
