The production process for Avengers Doomsday, which will open a new era in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), begins today. The last Avengers movie, Endgame, was released in 2019 and broke box office records, ending Phase 3 of the MCU.
Over the past six years, the MCU transitioned into the “Multiverse Saga” era, with the concept of multiple universes taking center stage. However, numerous films released during this period failed to meet expectations and did not achieve the desired box office success.
The upcoming Avengers Doomsday, whose production has begun, is expected to bring the MCU back to its glory days. The film will bring back Marvel’s former stars while introducing new characters and launching a new era.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige also shared his excitement in a statement.
“Avengers movies are always about incredible actors. who’ve never met before on screen, meeting for the first time and interacting in ways that they’ve never interacted before. That’s my favorite part of Avengers movies. There’s already been a little taste of that with some people sitting here (in the Thunderbolts* cast), and we officially start (filming Avengers: Doomsday) on Monday. So that’s what’s next for us, and it’s very exciting. Day one is Monday.”
In addition, it is known that the main cast of the films Thunderbolts and The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be featured in Avengers Doomsday. Thunderbolts will be released on May 2, 2025. And The Fantastic Four: First Steps will hit theaters on July 25, 2025. As for TV, the Ironheart series will premiere on June 24, 2025, and Eyes of Wakanda will debut on August 6, 2025.
Officially in production, Avengers Doomsday will be in theaters on May 1, 2026.
