Disney+ has announced a shift into a mobile-first vertical video format.
The new vertical video experience was introduced at CES 2026 and will be available on the platform later this year. The strategy follows Disney’s earlier move into vertical video with ESPN Verts, launched in August 2025.
The content will be selected from ESPN sports, ABC News, and Hulu + Live TV entertainment shows.
Executive VP of Product Management, Erin Teague, sayid that Disney aims to make Disney+ “a true daily destination for fans,” and added “so that’s exactly what we’re going to do.”
Disney also announced a new executive appointment. Jimmy Zasowski has been appointed President of Platform Distribution. He will be responsible for the distribution and monetisation strategies of Disney+, Hulu, ESPN and Disney’s linear channels.
In other Disney news, company veteran Jimmy Zasowski has been upped to the role of president, platform distribution, Disney Entertainment and ESPN.
