Cineflix Rights has acquired the international distribution rights to Diana Unheard, a new three-part documentary series exploring the life of Diana, Princess of Wales through previously unheard personal recordings.
Produced by Love Monday TV, the three-part, 60-minute series draws on hours of intimate audio recordings made during conversations between Diana and a close companion. The tapes offer a first-person perspective on some of the defining moments of her life, including her childhood, her marriage to Charles, and her hopes for Princes William and Harry.
What Will Diana Unheard Explore?
Rather than approaching Diana’s story solely through outside commentary, the series places her own voice at the centre of the narrative.
The recordings see Diana reflect on her private and public life, including the breakdown of her marriage and Charles’ relationship with Camilla. The documentary aims to revisit these events through Diana’s own perspective, using material that has not previously been heard by the public.
Kerene Barefield, creative director at Love Monday TV, said the production was conceived as a way of moving beyond portrayals of Diana that focus only on her as a victim of circumstance. According to Barefield, the recordings allow the late princess to tell her story with an unusual degree of candour and intimacy.
When Will Diana Unheard Be Released?
The project is being co-produced with partners in the US, UK and Australia ahead of the 30th anniversary of Diana’s death in 2027. Cineflix Rights will introduce the series to international buyers at MIPCOM in October 2026.
With its focus on previously unheard recordings, Diana Unheard joins the continuing wave of documentaries revisiting the life and legacy of one of the most closely scrutinised public figures of the modern era.
