UK distributor DCD Rights has secured pre-sales for new crime drama The Last to Disappear with ITV for the UK and Acorn TV for North America ahead of MIPCOM.
The six-part drama stars Sam Keeley (Task, Kin, Dublin Murders), Oona Airola (Hildur, Helsinki Syndrome, L/over) and Thea Sofie Loch Næss (La Palma, So Long Marianne, Evil). Based on Jo Spain’s bestselling novel, the series is produced by Newgrange Pictures in co-production with Yellow Film & TV for Elisa Viihde.
DCD Rights Takes New Crime Titles to MIPCOM
The Last to Disappear follows an Irish lobbyist based in London who learns that his sister has drowned while working at a luxury resort in Lapland. As he investigates what happened, he discovers that her death may have been deliberate and could be connected to a series of murders targeting women.

The distributor will also introduce two additional crime and thriller titles at MIPCOM. Fortitude Valley (6 x 60’) stars Rupert Everett, Hunter Page-Lochard and Kat Stewart. The Australian crime thriller follows detective Ethan Tobane after human remains are discovered beneath a demolished city building. His investigation leads to a connection between a powerful property developer and his own father.
Produced by Moving Floor Entertainment for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Fortitude Valley received production investment from Screen Australia, ABC and Screen Queensland.
DCD Rights will also showcase An Impossible Way to Die, a six-part thriller from Clapperboard Studios for UK broadcaster Channel 5. Sharon Rooney and Emmett J. Scanlan star in the series, which follows DS Katie Salter as an unusual murder investigation takes her far beyond the everyday crimes she is used to solving.
The case begins with four people seated around a dinner table, one of them dead, with a scorpion emerging from the victim’s mouth.
