Audiovisual from Spain will bring around 50 Spanish companies to MIPCOM Cannes 2026, with a programme focused on co-production, international partnerships and the global reach of Spanish content.

Spanish screen companies will have a major presence at MIPCOM Cannes 2026, with around 50 companies and organisations taking part under the Audiovisual from Spain umbrella. The international promotion brand of ICEX Spain Trade & Investment will host exhibitors at the Spanish pavilion in Riviera 7 (R7.J11), alongside a dedicated area at the MIP Creative Hub.

The programme will focus on creating new business opportunities for Spanish companies, with events covering the international performance of Spanish drama, Spain-Canada co-production and networking with international buyers.

Spain and Canada Explore New Co-Production Opportunities through Audiovisual from Spain

Audiovisual from Spain will present GECA’s latest research, Spanish Fiction 2026: Between New Stories and New Seasons, on October 13 at the MIP Creative Hub. GECA’s Director of Content and Production Consultancy Gloria Saló will examine emerging trends in Spanish scripted content, including genre hybridisation and new narrative approaches, alongside the continued strength of established series and returning IP.

On October 14, the Spanish delegation will host a Spain-Canada co-production meeting, bringing producers from both countries together for one-to-one matchmaking. The Canadian delegation will include ATO Média, Big Bad Boo Studios, Groupe Fair-Play, Reign Films, Rezolution Pictures and Vérité Films, while Honestree Island, Hurí TV, Morgana Studios and Vértigo Films will represent Spain.

The initiative comes after Spain and Canada signed a new Audiovisual Co-production Treaty at the Toronto International Film Festival, replacing the bilateral framework established in 1985. The new agreement expands eligibility to television and video productions of different formats and genres and allows producers from third countries to participate.

The Spanish presence will conclude with a networking event on October 14 at the national stand, where partners and buyers will have the opportunity to connect with Spanish companies and view new content launched during the market.

Among the companies participating through the Spanish pavilion are Filmax, Onza Distribution, Plano a Plano, Secuoya Studios, Squirrel Media, Vértigo Films, Video Mercury Films, Wild Stories Distribution and The Mediapro Studio, alongside rights organisation EGEDA and regional institutions including Canary Islands Film and Canarias ZEC. Additional Spanish companies will participate through independent stands, including Atresmedia Sales, DeAPlaneta Entertainment, Movistar Plus International and RTVE Commercial.
