The Devil Wears Prada, the cult movie that took us behind the scenes of the fashion and publishing world, remains one of the most memorable productions of the 2000s. Adapted from American author Lauren Weisberger’s semi-autobiographical novel, the film was also a major commercial success. Produced on a budget of around $35 million, The Devil Wears Prada grossed over $320 million worldwide.
Now, nearly 20 years later, 20th Century Studios has announced that a sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2, is in development. The original stars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci are all returning to reprise their roles. 20th Century Studios has also released a concept teaser for the sequel.
In the first film, Anne Hathaway played Andy Sachs, a young aspiring journalist who lands a job at the iconic fashion magazine Runway, working as the assistant to the ruthless editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly, portrayed by Meryl Streep. The Devil Wears Prada 2 will explore how Miranda navigates her career during a time when print publishing is in decline. Emily Blunt will also return as Miranda’s former assistant.

Meanwhile, David Frankel, who directed the original film, and Aline Brosh McKenna, the screenwriter of the first film, are also back for the sequel. In addition, renowned British actor Kenneth Branagh will join the stellar cast alongside Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci.
