Prime Video’s hit series The Boys is preparing to say goodbye with its fifth and final season. Filming for this concluding season wrapped up recently.
Meanwhile, the impact of The Boys universe keeps growing. Last year, it was announced that a new spin-off series set in this universe was in development and would tell a prequel story.
Titled Vought Rising, this new spin-off will begin filming next month. Jensen Ackles, who portrayed “Soldier Boy” inThe Boys, will return in the lead role. Set in the 1950s, Vought Rising will explore the early years of the Vought company. Joining Ackles, Aya Cash will reprise her role as Stormfront, offering a deeper look into their backstories.

Speaking about Vought Rising, Jensen Ackles said: “There is another show coming up that I will start next month, which is Vought Rising, a spin-off of The Boys. We just finished season five of The Boys—well, they just finished; I wrapped a little earlier. It should be out next year.”
Soldier Boy is often viewed as a classic superhero archetype, similar to Superman or Captain America. However, like many characters in The Boys universe, he is violent and ruthless. The Boys team previously managed to slow Homelander down by teaming up with Soldier Boy, but a true showdown has yet to happen. This leaves fans curious about what role Soldier Boy will play in the final season.
Another spin-off, Gen V, will return to Prime Video with its second season on September 17. The Boys final season is expected to premiere in 2026. As for Vought Rising, which begins filming next month, the release date has yet to be announced.
