Amy Sherman-Palladino is set to direct a live-action adaptation of the Eloise book series.
Inspired by Kay Thompson and Hilary Knight’s classic children’s novels, the film will tell an original story. Mae Schenk will portray the titular character, Eloise, with Ryan Reynolds, Sally Hawkins, Victor Garber, David Haig, Max Casella and Isaac Bae also starring.
The script was written by Sherman-Palladino alongside Hannah Marks and Linda Woolverton. Produced by Ryan Reynolds’ company Maximum Effort, the film is currently shooting in London.
The project has yet to receive a release date and is described by Netflix as a “bold, hilarious and heartfelt” family film.
