The first trailer for Scary Movie 6 has been released and fans are calling it “peak cinema.” The film is set to hit cinemas on 12 June.
Directed by Michael Tiddes, Scary Movie 6 also sees brothers Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory Wayans returning as writers.
Anna Faris and Regina Hall return as the iconic final girls, Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks. Shawn and Marlon Wayans reprise their roles as Ray and Shorty, joined by returning cast members Jon Abrahams, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Dave Sheridan, Anthony Anderson, and Chris Elliott.
The trailer parodies recent horror releases, including Longlegs, Weapons, Terrifier 3, M3GAN, and The Substance. The trailer opens with a nod to Scream 6, spoofing Jasmin Savoy Brown’s character Mindy. Fans praise the return of Anna Faris and Regina Hall as “iconic” and essential to carrying the movie.
