Netflix’s hit series Wednesday is returning to screens next month with its highly anticipated second season. After nearly three years of waiting, a new trailer for Wednesday season 2 has now been released.
As one of the platform’s most-watched English-language series, Wednesday is also among the most eagerly awaited TV shows of 2025. The new season, starring Jenna Ortega, will include four episodes directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Tim Burton, who also directed four episodes in the first season.
In this second season of the series, which is a spin-off of The Addams Family, Jenna Ortega’s character, Wednesday Addams, returns to Nevermore Academy. She makes a dramatic entrance, greeted by the new principal, Barry Dort, played by Steve Buscemi. After saving Nevermore last season, Wednesday must now deal with becoming a popular hero. Meanwhile, Wednesday’s dark visions grow even more intense, and horrifying scenes await the audience in this second season.

In addition, Netflix has announced special promotional events under the name “The Doom Tour.” Toward the end of July, Netflix will start a tour with the cast of the series, covering Australia, Canada, the UK, France, Italy, Poland, Romania, South Korea, and the United States.
Alongside Jenna Ortega, the second season’s cast features stars such as Steve Buscemi, Christopher Lloyd, Lady Gaga, Billie Piper, Noah Taylor, Evie Templeton, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, and Heather Matarazzo.
