HBO has released the first trailer for Task, a gripping new crime drama from Brad Ingelsby, the creator of the acclaimed series Mare of Easttown.
The seven-episode series will debut on HBO and stream on Max this September, with new episodes airing weekly.
Task stars Mark Ruffalo as an FBI agent who leads a task force in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia, following a string of violent home invasions. Tom Pelphrey plays a seemingly average family man who turns out to be at the center of the crimes.
The trailer opens with a tense line: “There’s been a spate of home invasions. At least nine houses have been hit.”
Brad Ingelsby writes and serves as showrunner, and the cast includes Emilia Jones, Jamie McShane, Sam Keeley, Thuso Mbedu, Fabien Frankel, Alison Oliver, Raúl Castillo, Silvia Dionicio, Phoebe Fox, and Martha Plimpton.
