Marvel’s new series Ironheart is only days away. Another trailer was released for the series, starring Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams.
Ironheart, created by Chinaka Hodge, focuses on the superhero journey of Riri Williams, who is preparing to take over the late Tony Stark’s legacy. Riri Williams’ story is based on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever comics and will recount the new adventures of the young genius.
Thorne, the lead actress of the series, commented on Ironheart, emphasizing concerns about Iron Man’s legacy:
“Robert Downey Jr. and I spoke just after we wrapped, and he shared some very lovely words about my journey,” Thorne told Empire. “He told me how excited he was and that he’s rooting for it, too. I literally got two thumbs up. It’s really reassuring to know you’re not embarrassing Iron Man.”
Thorne also underlined their differences, saying, “She’s dumpster-diving, whereas Tony Stark [was] this bajillionaire,” so there will certainly be a fresh perspective and beginning of a new age for the Iron Man fans.
In addition to Dominique Thorne, the series’ cast includes Anthony Ramos, Alden Ehrenreich, Zoe Terakes, Manny Montana, and Lyric Ross. Furthermore, Ryan Coogler, who is currently in the spotlight with the vampire movie Sinners, is among the executive producers of the series.
Ironheart will be added to the Disney+ library on June 24, 2025.
