Leighton Meester and Jared Padalecki will lead Netflix’s New Year–themed romantic comedy Guarding Stars.
The film is adapted from Katherine Center’s novel The Bodyguard. The story centers on a no-nonsense bodyguard assigned to protect a famous action star, and the romantic relationship that develops between them.
Guarding Stars is directed by Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum and written by Erin Cardillo and Richard Keith. The cast also includes Andie MacDowell, country musician Walker Hayes, Noah LaLonde, and Ava Max
The novel gained significant attention online, prompting Netflix to acquire the adaptation rights. No official release date has been announced yet.
