Good Omens has officially revealed when fans will see the story come to an end. Instead of a full third season, the beloved fantasy series will conclude with a single 90-minute final episode.
The feature-length finale will premiere on Prime Video on May 13. The show originally debuted in 2019, with its second season following in 2023 to strong critical praise.
Based on the novel by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, Good Omens follows the unlikely alliance between demon Crowley and angel Aziraphale as they attempt to prevent, and sometimes unintentionally encourage, the apocalypse. Blending fantasy, comedy and theological satire, the series has built a devoted global fanbase thanks to its sharp writing and the chemistry between its two leads.
David Tennant stars as the sardonic demon Crowley, opposite Michael Sheen as the meticulous and soft-hearted angel Aziraphale. Their dynamic has been widely regarded as the emotional core of the show.
The supporting cast includes Jon Hamm as the archangel Gabriel and Frances McDormand as the voice of God, alongside several returning ensemble members from previous seasons.
Season two was warmly received by critics, with many praising its character development and expanded mythology. However, the originally planned third season was reworked into a single finale following sexual assault allegations made against co-creator Neil Gaiman.
Gaiman remained credited as the writer of the final episode but was not involved in the production process, and his production company was not attached to the project. He has firmly denied all allegations of non-consensual conduct.
The upcoming Good Omens finale is expected to resolve the emotional fallout of season two’s dramatic ending, bringing Crowley and Aziraphale’s story to a definitive close.
